PLANNING
AND ZONING BOARD
The Planning and Zoning Board
acts as an advisory Board to the Commission
for zoning and planning issues and also
hears and decides variance and special
exception requests. The Board consists of seven members
and two alternates. Members are appointed
by the Commission for three year
terms and alternates are appointed for one
year terms. (If a member leaves, the
Commission appoints another citizen to fill
the vacated term.) Members must live in
Belleview and must be a registered voter.
The Planning and Zoning Board meets the
second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 PM.
CITIZENS ADVISORY TASK FORCE (CATF)
The CATF is formed as an advisory Board for
each Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
project the City applies to the Department
of Community Affairs (DCA) for. The CATF is
made up of five members and three alternates
appointed by the City Commission. The
term of the CATF is for three years or when
the project is completed. Members must live
in the City of Belleview. The Secretary for
the CATF is a nonvoting member who is
employed by the City. Meetings are held quarterly or
on an as-needed basis. Often the CATF will
look into areas of need in the City and
pursue grants to help the City fund needed
projects. The CATF is subject to Sunshine
regulations and must be advertised and
documented accordingly.
POLICE
Pension Board
the Police Pension Board is a
monitoring board for the Police Pension
Plan. The board is made up of 5
members which includes two sworn police officers,
two Commission appointees and 2 members appointed
by the Board and approved by the Commission. The board is responsible
for monitoring the investments in the
pension plan in accordance with Florida
Statute 185. The Police Pension Plan
currently has over 1.2 million dollars in
assets. CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
The
Code Enforcement Board hears and decides code enforcement issues
for the City of Belleview. The Board
consists of seven members and two
alternates. Members are appointed by the Commission for
three year terms and alternates are
appointed for one year terms. (If a
member leaves, the Commission appoints
another citizen to fill the vacated term.)
Members must live in Belleview and must be a
registered voter. The Code Enforcement
Board meets the fourth Tuesday of every
month at 6:30 PM unless otherwise cancelled.
