This
position performs advanced technical work in
systems analysis and support functions,
analyzing departmental needs, providing for
the coordination, integration and
implementation of appropriate technology to
solve specific business needs. Work
involves evaluating City goals and
objectives and understanding the business
needs of the City to facilitate
recommendations on technology and services.
Performs a variety of technical and
administrative tasks relative to the City's
computer systems, server(s), and network.
Responsibilities include specification,
installation, maintenance, configuration,
security, tuning, troubleshooting, backup
and recovery, capacity planning, client
support and documentation of City computer
systems, networks and associated
hardware/software resources. Adherence to
City and departmental policies and
procedures is required. Work is performed
under general direction of the City
Commission, with latitude for individual
initiative and judgment and is reviewed by
observation, discussion, reports, system
performance and successful resolution of
needs given budget constraints. Attendance
at Commission meetings may be required. This
position is appointed by and works at the
pleasure of the City Commission.
