The
Water/Sewer Department operates and
maintains the City’s drinking water
treatment and distribution system. It also
operates and maintains the City’s wastewater
collection system, treatment and
reclamation facility.
The
City of Belleview’s water distribution
system is comprised of over 50 miles of
water main, two water treatment plants and a
550,00 gallon elevated water storage tank.
Currently there are a total of 294 fire
hydrants connected to the City water
system.
The
sanitary sewer system is comprised of the
wastewater treatment and reclamation
facility, over 40 miles of sewer main and 34
sewage pumping stations. There are
approximately 670 manholes connected to the
mains, providing access to the gravity sewer
approximately every 400 feet for
maintenance.
The
City of Belleview operates a water
reclamation facility which converts the
City’s wastewater into water that is
suitable for irrigation purposes. Currently
this reusable water is used to irrigate the
Baseline Golf Course.
This
department is also responsible for the
installation of new water and sewer service,
investigation of excessive consumption
reports, and water leaks. The City budgets
annually for improvements and upgrades to
its infrastructure system. The City also
utilizes grants from other government
agencies, when available, for these
improvements.
