The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is presented in four sections:
The audits have been conducted by Purvis Gray and Company in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States.
Once the audit is completed, the Finance Department addresses all management areas and overviews along with statistical information that will be added to the financial data, notes and analysis. All data is combined into a single report called the CAFR. This annual financial report is reviewed with and accepted by the City Commission. Copies are then sent to applicable Federal, State and Local Government agencies along with banks and lending institutions.
The CAFR is submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for their review, critique and award. The City has received this award seven (7) times.
