During an emergency situation such as a hurricane, the Marion  County Emergency Management may be activated.  We encourage all citizens to be proactive and stay informed during emergencies.  Listen to the radio and local television stations for official announcements.  Subscribe to free e-mail and text alerts from local media news services.  Many government entities also issue information via social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.  Having a battery powered NOAA weather radio can provide timely warnings for hazards 24 hours a day.  Please be sure to follow all instructions issued by local officials.
