What are the minimum setbacks for a residential lot?
These standards depend on the zoning of your property. A summary is provided below. The full text is available from the Land Development Code Section 134.

R-1, R-2, R-4, RMH, & R-O…….Front & Back Yard - 25 ft……..Side Yard 8 ft
R-3……………………………...Front & Back Yard - 35 ft……..Side Yard - 8 ft
RPD………. depends on subdivision approval

There are exceptions:
• Sheds may be placed in the back yard with an 8-ft back yard setback.
• Carports are permitted in the front, side, or back yard with a ten-ft front yard setback.
