How far is my property line from the street?
Public roads are located in road rights of way that include property on either side of the pavement. The road right of way does not extend into your property. The best way to locate your front property line is to find survey markers (small round metal pin in the ground with writing on it) or have a land surveyor mark the property with stakes. Sidewalks and utility poles are generally located within the public right of way. You can use them as a rough estimate if precision is not an issue. If you are installing a fence along the front property line or otherwise need a precise location, you will need to either locate survey markers or hire a surveyor to find your property lines.
