[ARCHIVED] City of Belleview Announces Election Qualifying Period

The qualification period for City of Belleview Commission Seats ended Thursday, August 25th with Commissioners Michael Goldman (Seat 1), Ron Livsey (Seat 3) and Ray Dwyer (Seat 2) all retaining their seats unopposed.  


Commissioners Goldman and Livsey will be seated in November for four-year terms which will expire in 2026.  Commissioner Dwyer will be seated to complete the remainder of his two-year term expiring in 2024.  Also, up for election in 2024 will be Commissioner Robert “Bo” Smith (Seat 4) and Mayor Christine Dobkowski. 


The Commission, which includes the Mayor, is responsible for determining the types and levels of services to be provided as well as enacting laws, regulations, and policies that govern the City and its activities. The Commission oversees the City's general operation by approving the annual budget and subsequent amendments, all inter-local, development, franchise, miscellaneous agreements and all land use and zoning changes. In addition to appointing the City Administrator and the City Clerk, the Commission also appoints members to various citizen boards and committees.
