[ARCHIVED] Join us for the 4th Annual Belleview Youth Fishing Derby!


The City of Belleview will be a holding a fishing derby on Saturday, April 14, from 9am until 12pm at Lake Lillian. The event is for youths 15 and under and is free of charge. Participants must arrive at 8:30am for registration. Pre-registration is also available on our website or by calling 352-233-2115.

The competition will be separated by age groups (9 & under and 10-15). Prizes will be awarded for longest fish and most fish caught. Prizes will include trophies and gift cards from local establishments.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Freshwater Fisheries Division will be stocking Lake Lillian with cat fish and may provide worms for bait. Participants are encouraged to bring hotdogs as alternative bait if they are uneasy about using worms. Participants must bring their own poles.

The fishing derby will be followed by a Community Cook Out, hosted by Mayor Dobkowski and Police Chief Holland. Menu for lunch may include hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks, but full menu is TBD.
