The Board consists of  seven members and one alternate member. Members are appointed by the Commission for three-year staggered terms and the alternate is appointed for a one-year term. If a member leaves, the Commission appoints another citizen to fill the vacated term. Members must live in Belleview, be a registered voter, and not be delinquent in the payment of City taxes.

Board Description

The Code Enforcement Board hears and decides code enforcement issues for the City of Belleview. It is the intent of the Board to protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City by providing an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing all codes and ordinances in force in the City where a pending or repeated violation continues to exist including, by not limited to: nuisance violations, sign violations, zoning violations, maintenance of drainage retention area violations; and garage sale restriction violations; and further providing for issuance of notices of code violations, notices to appear, and an appeals procedure.

The Code Enforcement Board is subject to the Sunshine Regulations and must file financial disclosure forms upon appointment and annually thereafter.
