Proclamations

Proclamations provide an opportunity for the City to recognize exceptional events and people in Belleview. The goal of a proclamation is to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of citizens and non-profit organizations, honor occasions of importance and significance, and increase public awareness of issues to improve the well-being of the people of the City.

Commission meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Proclamations are read on record by the Mayor and presented to the requesting group.

The following guidelines shall be used when considering the issuance of a proclamation:
  • Requests should be made in writing, preferably on the official request form.
  • All requests must be received at least 14 days prior to the meeting where it will be presented.
  • Only one proclamation can be issued per year per organization.
  • Submission of a proclamation request does not guarantee issuance.
  • Any draft language submitted may be edited prior to finalizing.
  • Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • No proclamation will be issued as part of an advertisement or commercial promotion.
